It’s a pretty bad idea to trade Risto for us, our RHD after that is bogo and Nelson. We have a gluttony of LHD and on our current roster he is our best dman. So if we trade Risto we will have 1 rhd when bogo gets hurt 10 games into the season. Why we would deal from a position of weakness only to make our d corps worse when it needs help?

Making a trade with Chiarelli > keeping Risto

The Sabres need Rasmus. They don't need many of the slug forwards they have

From a Buf perspective, RNH and Hanafin for Risto and Reinhart is at best a wash. So what you’re proposing is that for 2018 pick #2, they would give up:

ROR
Nylander (2016 first rounder)
2018 pick #32
2019 #1 (likely a top ten pick)

That is not a trade that anyone would make.

No. Sabres might be moving ROR because their that deep at center. It's a good problem to have. But adding another center and losing defensive depth wouldn't help the Sabres at all.
